There is something very freeing about running. Some days it’s about getting up early, plugging in, turning it up, and cranking out the distance to see how far you can push yourself. Or I run at night on country roads with the music turned down, or even off and enjoy the cool night air and the stars and no one else around.
Health. I want to be healthier. I want to be skinnier, but I want to go about it the right way.
It is good for improving my self discipline and my drive for success. When you’re hurting and feel like you’re dying inside, and you’ve still got that mile to go, that’s when you reach in and pull on that strength you never dreamed you had.
I have always admired runners. Now I want to be one. I want to be able to run with my running friends, do 5ks, do 15ks, do marathons. I want to feel that burn, fill that unquenchable thirst for the pavement under my feet, and the feeling of complete success and fulfillment a finish line brings.
